- Updated figures of SFS generated across Europe and diagnosis of SFS valorization prospects and trends available.
- Preliminary reclamation trials conducted on a demo equipment for adjusting operation parameters to the characteristics of the SFS from chemical and green sand casting processes at ESTANDA foundry.
IMPLEMENTATION ACTIONS
- Layout of reclamation prototype to be integrated into ESTANDA sand treatment circuits ready.
- Selection of optimal conditions for reclaiming process considering environmental impacts.
- Operation of reclaiming unit integrated into ESTANDA sand circuit to obtain back and facing sand for the foundry’s moulding shop.
- Reclaimed SFS as secondary fine aggregate in mortar applications on construction works of a non-residential building.
